A Little Life Update

Well, we are halfway through December and I haven't done very well with my goal of blogging more, have I? Oops. To be fair, I've been having a bit of an "off" month all round so far. I've been suffering with bad anxiety and even had 4 panic attacks within 24 hours this week which is very unlike me. I've also alienated myself from a lot of people this month, especially my colleagues, so work hasn't been particularly fun either. I am not having a Holly Jolly Time.

December Goals

Wow, December already, I can't believe it! November was a wild month, full of ups and downs. I'm so excited to see what December brings.

What I Read in October

I definitely spent too much time blogging and watching TV last month, I only read two books in October! Two books is better than none though, so let's see what I read!

November Goals

It's Novemberrr, can you believe it? I swear it was only January five minutes ago. I have a very busy month ahead of me and I am holding onto a fair bit of anxiety right now. I think I need to try and be good to myself this month somehow.

October Recap

It's Halloween/Samhain and I'm feeling ready for the witches' new year. It's been an interesting month. It's certainly dragged, I can say that much. I feel like I spent all of my time either at work or blogging. I enjoyed my birthday the other day, for the most part. I really enjoyed Black Adam, and my birthday meal was quite fun. Although I'm gutted everyone went home by half 8!

Sunday 30 October 2022

SuperShift App

My colleague was looking into apps recently where you can enter in your monthly rota. I was tempted to say "just use your calendar app babe" but actually, the one she found was too good to miss out on!

Turning 27 | Mixed Feelings and Mixed Drinks

It's my birthday! I am now officially 27 years old and feeling absolutely devastated about it. I feel like my life is just flying by without any real meaning to it. I'm definitely feeling like I need to time travel backwards a few years and start again! Whew, I'm off to a depressing start, aren't I? Lets focus on the positives.

Friday 28 October 2022

November Budget

It's pay day! I'm actually quite happy with myself for October, I still had £500 left in my current account by pay day which is a huge achievement for me! I was and I wasn't looking forward to this pay as I knew it wouldn't be brilliant and the reality of me having to pay real household bills this month had set in. So, lets start budgeting, shall we?

31 Blog Post Ideas for Any Niche

We're all guilty of struggling for blog post ideas sometimes. I definitely struggle, especially when I'm attempting a daily blogging challenge like blogtober or blogmas! That being said, I have now compiled a list of 31 blog post ideas to use either throughout the year or to inspire a daily blogging challenge.

Samhain & How to Celebrate

I am so excited for Samhain this year! Samhain falls on Halloween and is the witches New Year. Honouring our ancestors, our roots, our families and ourselves is the main theme for Samhain and we're encouraged to engage with the "Other Side." We also use the witch's New Year to recharge and rest ourselves.

How to Keep on Top of Mess

I am not the tidiest of people. I get overwhelmed easily, I  get dizzy from cleaning (although not so often lately I've noticed) and I let mess pile up and pile up until myself and Josh are feeling incredibly depressed from it all. Even then it's a few weeks before I get the urge to purge and clean! Or Josh gives in and does it for me. So, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf and keep on top of the mess and not let our bedroom look like a bomb hit it!

Top 5 Nail Inspirations

I'm missing having my nails done! I have booked my nails to be done for Friday 28th - the day before my birthday! The only problem is, I'm struggling to decide how I want them done. So I've decided to share my Top 5 choices. Hopefully I can decide what I want before Friday!

Common Misconceptions about Non-Verbal People

I am a support worker for vulnerable adults who also happen to be non-verbal. I'll admit, going into the job I didn't really know what to expect from them, how I was going to communicate with them or anything! But I've learned a lot and even nearly a year into the job, some of my colleagues make comments about them and they almost seem surprised about how capable etc. they are. So, here are 3 of the common misconceptions I've learned on the job.

Top 5 TikTokers

Like most people, I am still very much obsessed with Tiktok! I could easily spend all day and all night watching them and I have compiled a list of my five favourite users.

The Body Shop Haul | Hair & Beauty

It's time for another haul! I was feeling a bit spendy the other day, and treated myself to a big body shop order - especially as there were a whole new bunch of goodies released! Plus I get a lovely discount as a consultant.

The 101 Items Declutter Week | Second Attempt

I was looking back at old blog posts recently when I discovered this post: The 101 Items Declutter Week. This post is from 2017! If you know me, you know I love a good declutter! I couldn't resist giving it another go.

Being More Me | Part 11

One thing I love doing is experimenting with my hair colour. I first dyed my hair when I was 15/16 and it was just before prom. Admittedly I only went a darker brown than what I had initially but from then on, I was hooked!

How to get Cashback | UK Based

As you probably know, I'm always trying to find more ways to save money or get more money. Love that Cost of Living Crisis life! There are tons of blog posts out there but I always find they're American based, so I've been hunting around and put together a list of money savings sites that work for the UK - and worldwide!

My 27th Birthday Wishlist

It's my birthday this month! I'll be 27, which I think is absolutely vile. Thankfully, I always get told I only look about 20, which is hilarious to me because I really feel like I'm starting to look my age!

Sunday 16 October 2022

Only Curls Haul

I have always had wavy/curly hair. I haven't figured out what type of hair I've got though at a guess I'd say mine is somewhere between 2b-3b on any given day. It's only in the last couple of years that I've started trying to take care of my curls and use products to help them look nicer. I have yet to try the curly girl method though!

Bullet Journal VS Binder & Binder Tour

I used to have a love-hate relationships with bullet journals! I loved the idea behind them and tried multiple types of layouts, notebooks and themes to try and make it work for me but I just couldn't make it work! Eventually I'd end up wasting pages upon pages because I'd dated the book for the whole month or even year and then didn't even use it! So now, I use a binder.

Weekly Budget Recap | 3rd October-9th October

Following a call to HMRC, I received £500 in benefits which was amazing! I was a bit panicked about money this month due to buying the house so I was so relieved when they said I was eligible for working tax credits. Surprised - but relieved.

Thursday 13 October 2022

My Tattoo Wishlist

Since getting my ladybird tattoo back in June, I've been thinking about what other tattoos I would like! I have decided I definitely want sleeves, potentially one in full colour and one in black and grey but I'm not fully sold on that idea yet. I've been told I really suit colour tattoos so I may end up with mostly colour, with a few more black and grey dotted in. The idea was to have like nature-based, cutesy tattoos on my left arm to go with my hedgehog and ladybird, and then more spooky, darker black and grey on my right. For my "two personalities" - you know?

Taking the Time to Recharge

I suffer with burn out quite a lot. Especially since buying a house and doing extra hours at work - I'm exhausted! From the day we completed, I spent over seven hours at the house, peeling off wallpaper, pulling up carpets. For the following two days I did 22.5 hours at work, then spent another two days chasing people up about house stuff and having appointments about the house, then I had another 7.5 hour shift at work the next day! I was shattered and needed some time to myself!

I have three products I now use daily (not including face wash!) and I feel so much better for now being in a regular routine again.

What I Read in September

It's been a while since I wrote one of these! I did tons of reading in September and wanted to share what I've been loving - or hating! I found all of these books on Kindle Unlimited - I actually can't remember the last time I picked up a real book. Can you believe I read six books?! I can't!

We Bought a House!

We did it! We finally bought a house! I honestly never expected this one to be one of my top five items I tick off my 30 by 30 bucket list but my amazing fiancé made it happen. We are officially homeowners at the ages of 26 and 24. Who would have thought it?

How to Put Together an Open Concept Living Room

Open-concept living is now widely accepted as the standard, rather than being regarded as a novel fashion that was once exclusive to hipster-chic loft apartments in industrial styles. However, while the concept of having a great number of separate rooms is now considered archaic, open floor plans are not always the best solution.

Four Ways to Make Your Home Winter Warm

Monday 3 October 2022

October TBR

I actually can't remember the last time I set myself a TBR list! I usually just read whatever I feel like reading but I've got a few books on my unread list to tick off! I'm still exclusively using my Kindle for reading so everything on my list is a mix of Kindle books I've bought recently, or Kindle Unlimited reads. I feel like I won't have as much time to read this month as I did in September, so I'm just going to set myself three books and see how I get on!

Sunday 2 October 2022

October Budget

Another month, another budget! Last month, I decided to put £1,000 from my wages into my savings and try to live on what I had leftover in my account. I accidentally stopped keeping track of my savings the last couple of weeks but I have to say, I didn't touch the £1,000 at all! I'm so proud of myself and I definitely want to try it again this month if I can. Let's see what my pay was like this month!

Spirit of Equinox Magic Spell Candles

It's been a long time since I've done a witchy haul! I was hoping my next haul would be much bigger than this but unfortunately I had to prioritise. I had planned to buy myself a whole bunch of candles, cloth and maybe even some new tarot cards for my altar but this time, all I could buy was a few candles. So, lets have a look shall we?

Stocks & Shares | A Complete Beginners Guide

If you’re looking for a new way to make money - whether that’s to cover the rising costs of living or you’re considering an entire new career path, you may want to get involved with stocks and shares. This can be a daunting topic to branch into, with many of us finding ourselves thinking up images of Wall Street and stressed business people, it’s actually surprisingly accessible. My partner Josh even has some shares in Rolls Royce! Here are a few steps that can help you to get into the market.

Weekly Budget Recap | 5th-11th September

This is it now, time to get serious! Spending over £300 in three days shook me to my core and really made me want to get my act together more than ever before. I decided to move £1,000 into my savings account (not including it in my savings goal) and then I challenged myself to "live" on the £723.55 I had left in my current account for the rest of the month, obviously aiming to have the majority of it left.

Mabon & How to Celebrate

Mabon is the autumn equinox! My favourite kind of equinox. This year Mabon starts on Wednesday 21st September and ends on Thursday September 29th. That's a lot of time to celebrate! Mabon is a celebration of balance. The days and nights are now equal again and it's time to give thanks for what the summer has brought us. It's also time to let go of anything you may be clinging on to.

Weekly Budget Recap | 26th August - 1st September

I started doing a weekly budget round up (for the most part) in July, and it really opened my eyes to how much I spend in a week! It really disgusted me to be honest, so hopefully I can control my spending better this month!

Monday 5 September 2022

September Budget

So, I completely forgot to actually keep track of my spending last month - oops! All I know is that I paid my bills, paid for Charlie's school stuff for September and treated myself to new bras I needed desperately needed from Shein. My cash budgeting didn't go so great as I automatically used my card a few times. But the good news is I have some cash left over!

Friday 2 September 2022

August Recap & September Goals

August has actually been such a great month for me! It begun with me being on a beautiful holiday in Devon, I've had tons of time to myself, I got a pay rise, I've been exercising more. I also started binge watching House again and I've been loving a regular dose of Hugh Laurie. Don't get me wrong, I've definitely still had some difficult moments this month, but overall - not too shabby!

Shein Summer Haul

I've been feeling really low about my wardrobe lately, and didn't really have anything suitable for the crazy heatwave! After a chat with a colleague, I decided to raid Shein and see what I could find myself. I  have only had one item from Shein before and I absolutely love it so I was hoping to have some luck this time. Spoiler: I did! I have made three orders with Shein since! With my first order, I had £104 worth of items in my basket by the time I was done. Thankfully, Shein gives members vouchers so I got my basket down to £81 which was an absolute dream. Time to see what I ordered!

Camping in Devon | Photo Diary

I have officially been camping! As an adult anyway, I'm sure I went camping as a child but I don't remember it...either way, it's one more thing ticked off my 30 by 30 bucket list!

Josh, Charlie and I went camping with Josh's mum, stepdad, 3 of Josh's siblings and their partners. We stayed in Totnes, Devon at ..... We left at 6:30am which was a bit of shock to mine and Charlie's system! How we both stayed awake during the 4 hour trip I do not know. It was a bit disappointing when we got there, as Josh's idea of camping is in the middle of the woods. That being said, it wasn't a terrible place to camp, and it was definitely family friendly.
