My Reading Savings Goal & What I've Read

This year, I have decided to create a little savings pot on Monzo and make myself a goal of saving some money aside every time I read a book. I also aimed for one book a month so I'm not overloading myself and making myself broke trying to save some money! My aim was £10 for the first book of the month, then £1 per extra book read in the same month. So even if I read one book per month, I'll still have £120 in savings by the end of the year! Although I have been debating reducing the timeline on it, and using it for Christmas but I think I'd rather use it to either treat myself to something like a tattoo or a few piercings. We'll see what happens!

April TBR

It's been over a month since I last picked up a book! I should really cancel my Kindle membership while I'm not reading or only reading physical books. This month, I'm only aiming to read two books, as I'm still binge watching Greys Anatomy.

Romance Novels Charity Shop Haul

Josh and I went to our local Cancer Research charity shop recently, and I had a browse through the books. I didn't actually intend on buying anything, as I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, already have a decent amount of books and haven't actually read a book since early December. But you know, sh*t happens!

What I Read in October

I definitely spent too much time blogging and watching TV last month, I only read two books in October! Two books is better than none though, so let's see what I read!

What I Read in September

It's been a while since I wrote one of these! I did tons of reading in September and wanted to share what I've been loving - or hating! I found all of these books on Kindle Unlimited - I actually can't remember the last time I picked up a real book. Can you believe I read six books?! I can't!

October TBR

I actually can't remember the last time I set myself a TBR list! I usually just read whatever I feel like reading but I've got a few books on my unread list to tick off! I'm still exclusively using my Kindle for reading so everything on my list is a mix of Kindle books I've bought recently, or Kindle Unlimited reads. I feel like I won't have as much time to read this month as I did in September, so I'm just going to set myself three books and see how I get on!

Dream Fights | Poetry Review

AD|Gifted. It's only over the last couple of years that I've started to get into poetry and feel like I could somewhat understand it. The Seeker offered me a copy of their poetry in exchange for a review - I couldn't say no! I love discovering more poets.

Geek Magnifique, Finding the Logic in my OCD | Blogmas 2021

AD/ I received this book for free to review. All thoughts are my own.

At her lowest point, Melissa Boyle was starving herself out of fear of vomiting, avoiding leaving the house so that she wouldn't become contaminated. Wracked with the debilitating symptoms of emetophobia and OCD, she saw nothing to live for and believed she was beyond repair.

My Winter TBR | Blogmas 2021

I am well and truly back into reading. I have given myself a goal of reading three new books before the end of the year but I have made my TBR list long enough to last the whole of winter. Admittedly, I'm expecting to get less reading done once I start working but it's always nice to have a goal. So, here are the five (5) books I want to read before Spring.

21 Books of 2021

I did it! I have already read 21 books this year and I'm so pleased with myself! I have actually read more Kindle books than physical books this year, and it's been a nice change. I have also been reading more genres! I tend to live on detective novels but it's been really nice to read other things.

Inspector Stone Mysteries | A Spoiler-Free Review

A few months ago I started following various authors on Twitter. One of those authors was Alex R Carver. Out of all the authors I followed, Alex stuck out to me most. He's very real, down to earth and very honest about his life and work. So I decided it was time to check out his books.

What I Read in February

I didn't set out to read a whole lot during February but I'm proud of myself for reading a full four books over the first two weeks! I ended up getting into a bit of a reading slump, but I did start a fifth book.

2020 Reading Wrap Up

I still can't believe how many books I read this year! I completely expected to struggle to read 20 this year, so I couldn't believe it when I realised I've read 27! Although I easily could have hit 30+ but I decided to have a break from reading this month, until Saturday when I decided to start reading Hangman by Daniel Cole! I probably won't finish it before the New Year, but I'm enjoying it so far!

October Book Haul

I have been on a book-buying ban for a good few months now. I genuinely can't remember when I started it but I do know that the last book I bought was on my Kindle during the first lockdown. But I have recently acquired some new books and I really wanted to share them with you!

A Good Girls Guide to Murder | Book Review

"Real men wear floral when trespassing."

A Good Girls Guide to Murder was actually bought for me during early lockdown, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to pick it up! I decided to take this book on holiday with me. I wasn't sure how much time I was actually going to get to read but I figured it was worth a try.

I managed to squeeze in a chapter before bed on the first night, and although I wasn't "hooked" on it, I was definitely intrigued by it! I didn't reread the synopsis before starting it, so I couldn't really remember what to expect.

My October TBR

I only read one book throughout the whole of September and it's really made me want to read more this month! I have selected three books to attempt to get through throughout October, and I'm really excited for one of them in particular.

Five Feet Apart | Book Review

I have to say, Queenie absolutely got me back into reading. The same day I finished Queenie, I got Josh to pick me out a new book to read from my shelf. He picked Five Feet Apart.

Wow. What a book.

Queenie | Book Review

I finally did it! After two months of not reading anything other than kids books to Charlie at bedtime, I finally read a book. Plus my final book for my 2020 reading goal!
