Charlie is One

Nope. No no no. Today marks 1 year of being a Mum and I'm not ready to admit it. But I've got no choice. My beautiful, tiny baby is now a one year old toddler.

Charlie's 9 Month Update

I know I say this every time but WHERE HAS MY TINY BABY GONE?! My little boy is nine months old already and it won't be long before it's his first birthday. I genuinely want to cry.

Just The Two of Us | A Weekend Alone With Charlie

Charlie and I spent a whole weekend entirely alone together for the first time recently. 3 days, and 3 nights just us. Apart from Ash coming over for a few hours on the Saturday, but still. That's literally the longest we've ever been alone together.

Charlies 6 Month Update

I can't believe it's been another three months since Charlie's last update; I swear I was only writing it last week!

Making a Birth Plan

Lately I've been seeing a lot of ladies talking about birthing plans. Or rather 'MY PLAN IS TO HAVE A BABY!' Which is obviously a good place to start but actually, a birthing plan is worthwhile.

How I've Changed Since Becoming A Mum

I feel like the changes that motherhood brings usually have negative connotations. Yes, your life suddenly becomes less about you and before you know it you're drowning in nappies and can no longer go out drinking until 3am every weekend - although that's probably for the best to be honest.

Charlies 3 Month Update

Charlie is officially 3 months old tomorrow and I am not okay. Where is my tiny baby going?!

Managing the Mum-Tum

Throughout the years I've been underweight, overweight and everything in between. A size 6 right up to a size 16. I'm generally at my happiest between size 8-12 and after pregnancy I'm currently sitting at a size 10-12. Which would be fine if most of my clothes were that size. They are not and I can't really afford to buy new clothes to accommodate. Although thankfully now it's getting colder, most of my tops are oversized anyway so that's not really going to be too much of an issue for the rest of the year. It is however, time to lose the baby weight.

nspa Your Special Time - First Impressions

During pregnancy it's recommended that you get yourself some "specially formulated" products to keep you looking and feeling fab - any excuse for a pamper, right? There's tons of choices out there and after a lot of umming and ahhing I finally decided on the nspa Mum-to-be gift pack. Mostly because it seemed to be the most cost-effective option.

Pregnancy Brain Is Real

A lot of people doubt pregnancy brain. I think a small part of me doubted it as well. Until I got pregnant of course.

Lets Talk About Breasts - Real Talk with ThirdLove*

You know what we don't talk about enough? Boobs. Specifically, the changes breasts go through during pregnancy, breastfeeding and post-nursing. It turns out that August is National Breastfeeding Month and I just had to write a post in honour of it.

Charlies One Month Update

How the hell is my son a month old already?! It only feels like yesterday that we left the hospital!
Ironically he's about 2 weeks here

What Was in my Hospital Bag?

I finally decided to start packing my hospital bag at 31 weeks pregnant, but had spent weeks beforehand reading as many blog posts as possible for ideas, and spent hours scrolling through Pinterest lists. Honestly, I felt a bit overwhelmed at the sheer amount of stuff you actually need to take!

A Life Changing Night & The Importance of Donating Blood

If you follow me on Twitter you've probably seen some cryptic tweets hinting at something I've been struggling with. Well, I've finally been able to put it into words.

My Pregnancy Essentials

Pregnancy was really tough for me and I'm not sure how I would have coped without my essentials!

5 Gifts For The Mum-To-Be*

As a Mum to Be I thought I would be showered with gifts a bit more than I was. Pregnancy is hard, both physically and mentally, and I wouldn't have said no to a gift every now and then! Maybe I'm just being selfish but I'm willing to bet there are other Mums out there that thought the same thing!

Pregnancy Update: Weeks 39 & 40

The first day of week 39 also happened to be my late Dads birthday. Even though it would have meant Charlie was a week early; I was desperate for him to be born that day. But, alas, it wasn't meant to be.
I had still been having the occasional pains and niggles but they just didn't develop into anything else. I was extra-gutted because my friend had her baby girl that morning! I would have loved to have been in sync with her hahah!

Pregnancy Update: Weeks 37 & 38

I celebrated my first day of 37 weeks by touring the unit/wards of where I want to give birth!

Pregnancy Update: Weeks 35 & 36

I actually had a really lovely start to week 35! Well, apart from having to visit Dad at the crematorium for Fathers Day but even that wasn't as horrible as I expected it to be. But after that, I managed to drag Ash out of bed and up to Canterbury with me. Ash's Nan had given me the cash for pram at the baby shower, so I was finally going to get the damn thing myself, instead of waiting for Ash to order it. So we went to have another look at it, make sure it was 100% the one we wanted and that it was easy enough to collapse etc.
