June Budget & May Budget Recap

May Budget Recap

My budgeting goals were fairly simple for May! My goal for my debit account was to not go under £600 and to not spend more than £250 on my credit card. Sounds fairly simple right? Let's see how I did shall we.

May Recap & June Goals

I have been so incredibly burnt out this month! There's been multiple days this month I have woken up and nearly cried at the thought of going to work. I don't really hate my job but I am really and truly exhausted! Working three weekends per monthly rota doesn't help, I feel like I never really get to rest. Thankfully though, I booked myself some annual leave for June and I'm so excited to have a week off to just do what I want!

I celebrated two birthdays and got horrendously drunk at the second one. I had to go to work the following afternoon and I felt like I was going to die. It was a really fun night though, I haven't enjoyed myself that much in ages!

How I Survive Night Shifts

If you're a regular reader of Simply Saph or follow me on twitter, you are aware that I am a Support Worker for non-verbal autistic adults in residential care. I am day shift staff but occasionally I do wake nights as well! I have currently done five night shifts, with another two to go on this rota. I've been lucky enough that our most active resident has either been away or asleep at a reasonable hour, so I've not been running around the house after them! So here are the ways I've been able to keep myself awake on nine hour night shifts.

May Budget | Low Spend Month

Another month, another budget! I'm changing it up slightly this month though. I always get paid on the 28th of the month, and I usually start my budget on the 1st of the month until the following pay day. I'm going to do it slightly differently this month though and actually budget from the 28th April-28th May. April brought a pay rise by a whole £1.08 but it also came with some sick days. I had no idea how much I was going to be paid but I wasn't expecting much. I really had to think hard about my budget this month!

April Budget Recap

It's that time again; budget recap day! For April I gave myself a budget of £300 in cash and I aimed to keep as much money as possible in my bank account. At the beginning of the month I had £866 left in my bank account and I wanted to try and not go under £600. Let's see how I did, shall we?
