My Winter TBR | Blogmas 2021

I am well and truly back into reading. I have given myself a goal of reading three new books before the end of the year but I have made my TBR list long enough to last the whole of winter. Admittedly, I'm expecting to get less reading done once I start working but it's always nice to have a goal. So, here are the five (5) books I want to read before Spring.

Good Girl, Bad Blood, Holly Jackson
Someone is missing. Nobody's talking.  But this time, EVERYONE is listening...
Pip Fitz-Amobi is not a detective anymore . Her true crime podcast about the murder  she solved last year has gone viral. Yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her.
But she will have to go back on her word when someone close to her goes missing and the police can't do anything about it. If they won't investigate, then Pip will, uncovering more of her towns dark secrets along the way. But will she find the answers before time runs out?
This is book two of the A Good Girls Guide to Murder trilogy and I am so flipping excited to read it. I absolutely loved AGGGTM and Pips tenacity.

As Good as Dead, Holly Jackson
Dead Girl Walking
Pip Fitz-Amobi is haunted by her last investigation. But soon a new case finds her and this time it's all about Pip.
She has a stalker, one who keeps asking: Who will look for you when you're the one who disappears?
Pip soon discovered a connection between her stalker and a local serial killer, but the police refuse to act. As the dangerous game plays out its clear that if Pip doesn't find the answers, she's as good as dead...

This is book three of the AGGGTM series and I actually received it for my birthday! If Good Girl, Bad Blood is as good as AGGGTM then my standards will be super high for this one! Especially as its a new release this year...

The Book of Hope: 101 Voices on Overcoming Adversity
There is always hope. Even when we cannot seem to find it within ourselves, it is still very much there. And just as the sunshine follows the rain, even if you have temporarily lost hope, it will eventually return again.
From the best advice you'll ever get, to the joy of crisps, the 101 brilliant contributors to this book will help you find hope whenever you need it most. Mental health campaigner Jonny Benjamin, MBE, and co-editor Britt Pfluger bring together people from all walks of life - actors, musicians, athletes, psychologists, and activists - to share what gives them hope. this joyful collection is a supportive hand to anyone looking to find light on a dark day and shows that no matter what you may be going through, you are not alone.

You may recognise this book from my birthday bucket list post! Clearly, I never got round to reading it. I originally bought this book to support my lovely friend Ellie who is one of the contributors, but actually this sounds like something I needed in my life regardless. I regularly suffer from depressive episodes, and this book seems like something I need to lift me up sometimes. I'm really excited to read it but I wish I knew more of the contributors - Dame Kelly Holmes is the only name I really recognise! I may end up doing a lot of Googling while reading this.

The Dark Tower, Wizard and Glass, Stephen King
The Dark Tower beckons Roland, the Last Gunslinger, and the four companions he has gathered along the road. In a terrifying journey where hidden dangers lie at every junction - a malevolent runaway train, Roland's staunch enemy and the temptation of the wizards diabolical glass ball - they narrowly escape one world and slip into the next.
It is here that Roland tells them a long-ago tale of love and adventure involving a beautiful woman named Susan Delgado.

Believe it or not but I don't think I've actually read a Stephen King novel before. I could be wrong, I've genuinely lost track of what I have and haven't read. My mother in law actually gave me this book months ago and I haven't even had a chance to glance at it yet. I'm not sure that this my usual type of book but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

The Midnight Library, Matt Haig
Nora's life has been going from bad to worse, then at the stroke of midnight on her last day on earth she finds herself transported to a library. There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived.
Which raises the ultimate question: with infinite choices, what is the best way to live?

Another book I received for my birthday! I love getting books as presents. Now this, is definitely my kind of book! I would love the chance to see my alternate timelines, I can already tell this book is going to get me thinking.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments! Also, feel free to friend me on Goodreads to see how I'm getting on.

Until tomorrow,
Saph x
