Now I'm 25 | Be More Me Plan & Haul
One of my goals for October was to figure out how to be more "me" once I turned 25. I had a very basic plan/idea of what I wanted but had nothing set in stone until three nights ago when I couldn't get to sleep.
I have been feeling pretty down in the dumps about myself lately. Although I am generally a body positive person, I do struggle to love my own body. I've never been told I look awful or anything, but I still feel like I look it. I feel unhealthy more than anything. Which, in all honesty, is because I am! Hating my body means I hate the majority of my clothes and I struggle to find an outfit every day. I literally live in jeans, t-shirts and hoodies.
I'm also feeling pretty down about my hair! Although my new shea hair routine drastically improved the dryness of it, I'm still unhappy with it. I'm not too bothered about the colour - apart from my roots and purple patches - but I desperately need it cut! Unfortunately I never got to the hairdressers when they reopened. I also need a bit of a restyle because I still have thin patches of hair that I could do with covering up.
So, I decided to get spending. Begrudgingly, I'll admit.
First stop; Amazon. I ordered myself a can of L'Oréal Magic Retouch Root Concealer Spray, plus a box of Clairol Root Touch Up in case the spray doesn't work! Both in black. I'm still happy with the caramel highlights so I'm aiming to just cover my natural brown coming through, as I'm convinced it's making my thin patches more visible!
I also got myself some Smile:Now teeth whitening strips. I've been paranoid about my teeth for as long as I can remember anyway but I feel like they're getting more stained lately! I can't always get my hands on whitening toothpaste so I thought it was time for some serious help. The reviews were great so I'm expecting some good results!
I also bought myself a set of rings, just because I fancied some. I've only featured two of them but there's actually tons and you get two of each! £8.99.
My next stop was The Body Shop! My Body Shop wishlist is ginormous anyway, but lately I've been really wanting to get into makeup more. I already own a Fresh Nude Beauty Balm foundation, but I don't have the tools to apply it. So I grabbed myself a complexion blender (beauty blender) and a Fresh Nude Concealer. I haven't been sleeping much lately and I'm starting to worry I have dark circles to cover up.
I also treated myself to a new lipstick because I am a lipstick fiend, and also the Aloe Soothing Day Cream as I'm running out of the Vitamin E one so I figured I might as well! I did also want to get more hair care but the products I wanted were out of stock!
Unfortunately I don't have any photos of my body shop order as I was so desperate to get this post published that I didn't want to wait until it had arrived! I'll just have to write another haul post...
Over the two shops I spent £81.50. Yikes...but I did actually save £10 as both shops have sales on!
I also plan to invest in some Hairburst chewable vitamins at some point.
Well, now I've spent all my money, it's time to get on with the stuff I can do for free: weight loss and toning!
I am still supposed to be learning how to cycle as part of my exercise routine but it's been over a month now since I was last on my bike, so that's not going well.
The only form of exercise I actually enjoy lately is walking, but the wet and windy weather tends to put me off that. I think it's time to get the weight loss group chats going again; get some motivation and ideas flowing! I do think I'll give dancing a go too, I do love to dance and I'm sure YouTube have plenty of tutorials I can follow!
Plus, the sooner I can lose weight, the sooner I can buy new clothes and finally figure out what aesthetic I want to go for! I think I'm aiming for witchy vibes in general but not always gothy-witch vibes. Sometimes I like to be a soft gal but I want that hard edge too! I don't know if that makes sense but I know what I mean. I think...
Hopefully by the end of the month I can have a positive update on this!
Until next time,
