Diary Entry #20 | Goodbye June, Hello July

It's the final Monday of June! Six months until Christmas...bleh. I actually think this month has really dragged, which is unusual for me! Goes to show I haven't really done much this month...

Josh and I have just had a lovely weekend to ourselves. We decided to book a last minute hotel room in Dover just for us after dropping Charlie off at his Dads and it was so lovely and peaceful! We spent the afternoon exploring Dover Castle and I honestly thought I was going to die at one point. Climbing the steps to the roof while wearing a mask is not the one.

We then checked into the guesthouse and I immediately fell in love with the place. We had free reign of the shared lounge, kitchen and garden but unfortunately the weather wasn't nice enough to appreciate the garden fully. Josh felt too awkward to make use of the kitchen or lounge which is a shame but I completely understand where he was coming from! So we spent the evening in our room watching TV and TikToks and playing games.

Josh feels like he wouldn't stay there again as he prefers chain hotels and it was a bit awkward trying to find a parking space, but I definitely would! The owner was nice, the house was gorgeous and I loved the room. No complaints from me!

When we checked out the following morning, we headed to Blean Woods Nature Reserve in Canterbury. It was a gorgeous walk but I regret doing the 2 mile route! We hadn't had breakfast, and both of us were starving by the time we did half the route. We definitely want to go there again at some point and go off the path to explore some more.

Now, onto June in general...I decided to not give myself any goals for the month and I do honestly feel like I've had a better month for it! I think sometimes I just need a go-with-the-flow month so I don't feel so guilty for not achieving anything. Which, I don't think I have this month. Although I did read a fair bit this month, which I'm really happy about!

I have also applied for tons of jobs this month, and even had an interview. I thought it went brilliantly and they made it sound like I was in with a chance of getting the job but it's been over two weeks now and I still haven't heard back from them. I can't lie, I am absolutely gutted because the company and the hours were perfect for me. It's definitely knocked my confidence!

I'm hoping for a much more productive and happier July. The summer holidays are coming up, my sisters birthday and Charlie's fourth birthday! I need to get a wriggle on with buying presents and organising Charlie's birthday...

As for my goals, I want to read at least one book, lose more weight and try to procrastinate less!

What are your goals for July?

Until next time,
Saph x
