The 10 Day De-Clutter-a-Thon

I was scrolling through Pinterest when I discovered a blog post about a 15-30 minute de-cluttering process someone was working on. I had already started doing a '10 minute tidy-up' every day by the time I found this so I thought this would be a great way to re-motivate me to get rid of some more things too! As I said in my last update, I wasn't sure what method I would use next, as I was struggling with the full 30 days of the minimalism game, so just 10 days seemed ideal!
I got a big bag ready for anything I could sell/donate and set myself a timer for 10 minutes. I limited myself to 10 minutes because I get so tired so quickly, I didn't want to burn myself out and then not get anything else done in the day! As always, I did it by section every day, I sometimes even managed to fit two sections into the ten minutes!

Just on the first day I managed to get rid of over 40 items! I even managed to tackle my clothes and shoes, even though I said I wouldn't, but I wasn't able to get rid of very much. Amazingly, over the course of 10 minutes for 10 days, I managed to get rid of another 120 items!

I'm so proud of how far I've come and I almost wish I'd taken photos of how cluttered my room was at the beginning of the year, it's so different now! It's so much easier to keep tidy as well, I love it. I'm seeing so many benefits to minimalism and I'm so glad I tackled my hoarding and got rid.
