Why I Started a Bookstagram

I've always had a love-hate relationship with Instagram. When I first started it, I would post everything and anything, and it was fine. Then I started blogging and it became a competition to see who could post the best photo and get the most likes. I never won.

Even when I tried really hard to create a really nice image, it was always crap compared to other people. Bit embarrassing really, considering I wanted to do photography for a living. Eventually I stopped caring, and just posted whatever I wanted again, but a lot less frequently. It actually got to a point where I didn't post anything for over three months.

I'd been admiring bookstagram accounts for months, my favourite being The Hels Project. This February, I finally decided to go for it. I made my Instagram a bookstagram. Books have been a huge part of my life, ever since I was little. I just love reading, and having a place to dedicate to it is so satisfying. I'm not brilliant at book reviews, so I didn't want to dedicate my blog to it - although I do occasionally write about books on here! - but having my little bookstagram makes me so happy.

I also post a lot more regularly now! The longest I've gone without posting so far, is a week. I love that I can also include my Wicca journey on there - as that involves a lot of reading too.

I'm so happy I decided to go for it and start my bookstagram. If you're considering it, I absolutely recommend it! Now's the best time to start it.

Until next time,
Saph x
