I'm Back!

I'm back! I took a very extended leave from blogging and while it was a relief for a while, I have started missing it. I took to writing in a journal instead which was helpful, but definitely not the same and didn't ignite as much joy. So, here we are. I don't know how long it'll last but it feels amazing getting back to doing something somewhat creative again. I guess it's time to update you all on what I've been up to the last 6 months?

In December, I started my new job as a support worker in a residential care home for adults with learning disabilities. I'm back to full time work after doing part time for two years and wowee I am knackered. I don't love it unfortunately, although some days are much better than others. There does seem to be room to move up the career ladder here though so I am thinking of pursuing that. I have looked into other careers though. I have been debating midwifery lately but unfortunately it's not a course I can do online and the colleges/universities that offer it are not local enough for me to be able to attend. So that's a no go. However, I am planning on doing my level 3 NVQ in health and social care while I'm in this job. Even if it's just something to add to my CV.

I have also been discussing restarting my photography business. Originally I was just going to start it as a hobby again, but Josh has convinced myself and my best friend to go into business together. Although there's nothing stopping me from doing it as a hobby for now, as neither of us are quite ready to set it up yet. But soon hopefully!

I've been having lots of lovely days out so far this year! I've been to Bedgebury Pineton, Mote Park in Maidstone, Rare Breeds Centre, New Forest, Wingham, Canterbury, had an evening in London with my friends for one of their birthdays - Hello, Dreamboys! A weekend in Brighton and a lovely week long holiday in Sussex with my family. Honestly feel so happy and lucky with how the year is panning out so far. Don't get me wrong, there's been some bad this year too but there's been so much good I don't want to think about anything else!

We've also got some new pets since I last blogged. I decided to get a fish tank back in February. I got eleven fish in total and I loved every single one. Unfortunately, the majority of them died over a recent weekend and I am now down to two fish. Well, technically one, as the other is Josh's fish. I'm still debating whether or not to replace the fish that died. My tank is ever so empty and it does make me sad, but I'm also thinking about the money I'll save - especially on the electric - by not having a fish tank.

We also got two kittens! One was five months old at the time, a torti called James. Who is a girl but the previous owner thought she was a boy and she won't respond to another name now. And our gorgeous little baby boy Lazlo, named after Laszlo from our favourite TV show What We Do in the Shadows. We love them both dearly and they fit in so well in our home.

There's plenty more for me to share, but I'm going to save those for other posts. For now, it's good to be back and I can't wait to get working on more posts!

Until next time,
Saph x
