2019 is just hours away, people are planning their New Years Resolutions and their goals. As always, I'm setting myself some goals - and then some! I already have my 23 While I'm 23 list to complete by October 29th, but why not go all out and set some more?
Cross off Everything on My 23 While I'm 23 List
If you haven't already read my post on this, go ahead and read it here now.
Go Back to Being Vegetarian
I feel guilty as hell eating fish and meat, so once I'm back from my sisters in March, I'm planning on going fully vegetarian. I don't often eat meat anyway so this shouldn't be difficult! I may even go vegan by the end of the year - watch this space!
Spend Less Time on My Phone
After getting 200GB of data for my birthday, I've been on my phone practically constantly for the last two months and it's driving me crazy. My attention span regarding Charlie has decreased dramatically and it's embarrassing. I have a whole lot of Mum guilt over it so I'm determined to set my phone down more often next year! I'm even going to reinstall the Forest app, that made a ton of difference last month.
Be More Minimal
I've been on my minimalism journey for nearly two years now, and I'm still struggling to not buy so much stuff. I have massively improved over the last few months but I'm still not quite there. This year, I'm putting myself on a spending ban, utilising libraries more and creating a capsule wardrobe.
Good Things Memory Jar or Notebook
Memory jars are a thing people have been doing for years now (check them out on Pinterest if you haven't heard of it!) and I feel like I need to get in on that! They're a really lovely way to look over the year, and as someone who doesn't take lots of photos, I feel like this would really benefit me. I'm leaning more towards a notebook rather than a jar so I can actually keep it rather than have lots of little scraps of paper to figure out what to do with at the end of the year.
Be More Present
I'm also going to be taking a break from blogging, as I want to use January to concentrate on my friends, family and YouTube more. This month was really quite stressful for me regarding my blog and I'm starting to burn out and lose the passion for it. I don't know exactly how long I'll be gone - I usually become so inspired when I take a break - but I don't want to put pressure on myself to blog any more. This also ties in with being on my phone less.
What are your goals for 2019?
Oh, the good things memory vessel thing sounds like a great idea. I've thought about doing it a bunch of times, but it never came to fruition. Same with being present. I feel like being present is more applicable to people who have a life where they go through the motions; I'm more likely to not bother at all, which sucks. I do want to blog more, but I don't want to make it a resolution. Pick up my camera more, and maybe selfies--I MIGHT make those a resolution (daily and biweekly respectively; I've done it before, didn't last long but it was a place to start). I still need a fucking whiteboard. I'm not sure where to buy a fucking whiteboard? My debit card is... useless-ish online because of geographic clashing (my address & the bank are not from the same country and this confuses sites sometimes) but I've never actually tried it on Amazon. Maybe I'll give it a go now. I want that habit whiteboard.
