Five by Thirty-Five | A Birthday Bucket List

After trying and -mostly- failing my 30 by 30 bucket list, I have decided to do it a little bit differently this time. After looking at these 30 goals I could have done over the last four years (some very realistically, some not so much) has definitely made me re-evaluate what is important to me and what isn't.

I won't lie, my original list did change slightly over the years. I can't even remember what items did change but I know some did. However, I have still completed 13 out of 30 items! Better than I expected, but still mildly disappointing.

My goals in life haven't dramatically changed, but I think aiming for as many as I did just meant I bit off way more than I could chew. Like, yes, I have always wanted to be a minimalist but I never took it very seriously. I just loved spending money too much and getting that hit of dopamine. It's been a long process but I have slowly been able to change my mindset and get my dopamine in other ways. I also definitely changed my mind on having a big party! I was so excited for a RIP to my 20s party, which then changed to a masquerade ball (which would have been epic) but...I just didn't want that anymore. I'm definitely less of a party girl already and just wanted a simple celebration.

So, after a long, long think; I have decided on a 5 by 35 bucket list. I very nearly did a 40 by 40 list, but I just don't want to think about being 40 one day just yet.

1. Sunflower tattoo
I have wanted a sunflower tattoo for many years now and goddamnit I am going to get it before I'm 35!

2. Pass my driving test
I have decided I'm going to spend the next few months saving up for lessons again and I will be rebooking my theory test ASAP as it runs out in November. Ideally I'd like to pass my practical by this time next year but I will definitely have to work hard on my finances first.

3. Holiday in Scotland
Scotland is still very high on the bucket list. I'm still gutted we decided on Wales for our honeymoon as I so wanted to cross Scotland off the list in 2025 but I'm determined to make it happen sooner rather than later!

4. Set up a side business in photography
I have been thinking about doing photography again over the course of 2025 and in September I set up a new Instagram account that actually got a fair bit of traction while I was posting regularly! I have sadly abandoned it again over the winter but I received a new backdrop, some props and a lighting kit for Christmas, so it's spurred me on to get started again!

5. Have a baby
Josh and I have been wanting a baby for a while, however I have been getting cold feet. A lot. A few years ago we started the process of getting my eggs frozen but I needed to lose a certain amount of weight to be eligible for it. Wow, the amount of self sabotage that happened...
However, one weekend in July, that all changed and I have decided I'm (nearly) ready for a baby. The timing still definitely isn't right and we still have a lot to figure out - the main thing being surrogacy or adoption - hence why it's bottom of the list but I feel good in my decision to think about starting the process!

I'm so excited about my list!

Do you have a birthday bucket list? Let me know!

Until next time,
Saph x
