I got paid on November 25th so I had to start work on my budgeting and no/low buying pretty early on! First thing I did was go through all of my direct debits/subscriptions and minus all of those plus childcare from my pay. All of that came to £360.63. Yikes. That's not even including paying for gas and electric because I do that as pay as you go. I also included the £75.50 I owed my sister for our family Christmas get together. New total -£436.13 from my pay.
I had spent a few days before pay day scrolling through Amazon and adding items to my basket for the household; organisers mostly. After seeing how my money will drop so drastically already from my direct debits, I decided I didn't *need* any of that this month, even if it does mean I'm missing out on the Black Friday deals.
I had also decided I was going to buy colour remover and some new hair dye, but come pay day, I decided I couldn't be bothered and didn't want to pay out £30 for a new colour that would just end up fading before long anyway.
Instead, I put £30 away in a Monzo pot to save towards the next birthday I need to buy for and £50 in a general savings pot.
Purchases from November 25th - November 30th
Want to know what purchase number one was? A new clothes airer. Sexy, right? Unfortunately it was a necessity as ours broke. I did consider buying a heated one but knowing that the heating would be on a lot before long, I didn't see the point in it. Plus, even with the Black Friday deals on, they still weren't that cheap. Instead I opted for a four tier rack on wheels, with extra "wings" for hanging, for a tidy £16.14.
I got two taxis into work this week because I was so burnt out and did not want to bus/walk. That cost me £21.80 which feels very bittersweet. I'll try to bus next time!
£10.22 on Shein via Klarna. I'm in charge of the photobooth for my sister's birthday next month so I ordered loads of props, plus some extra little Christmas gifts for Josh and Charlie. It all came to £30.67 but for the sake of technically spending less, I decided to Klarna it.
I also ended up spending another £53.75 on Charlie between Amazon and Tesco. He decided he wanted a more "traditional" Christmas jumper this year, so he picked a lovely one from Amazon, and I then picked out two pairs of warm pyjamas and a new pair of black Minecraft trainers from Tesco. Thank god for the Clubcard though because it was costing £50 before I scanned it! He's had the pyjamas already but I'm saving the trainers for Christmas.
On Saturday, I went to Westwood Cross with my mum-in-law and sister-in-law! I didn't intend on buying anything but of course, I did. I spent £60 in Primark and I bought myself a new sweater, a pair of joggers, a pair of leggings and a shirt that I'm planning on wearing underneath a button up vest I'd bought myself as a birthday treat. I also ended up buying Josh a new Christmas jumper, Charlie a cap and a couple of squishy fidget toys.
I also used my birthday money and treated myself to a new black handbag from New Look and then lunch at Greggs. A very spendy day indeed. I'm happy with my purchases as I needed everything I bought for myself but I'm also unhappy I spent so much!
On Sunday, we ended up getting McDonald's for dinner because we were out late visiting my parents, so we ate on the way home so Charlie wasn't too late going to bed. Another £15.54 spent there!
Total spent £194.41. Yikes. That was so much more than I expected it to be. I haven't even included the gas/electric top up and the food shopping! I'm actually so disappointed with myself, and plan to do much better next week!
Until next time,
Saph x
