The Beginning of Our Happily Ever After

Today marks 3 months since Josh and I got married! I'm no longer a miss and have upgraded to a full time Mrs. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. Well, actually, that's a lie. But there isn't much at all I would change. I wanted to publish this post a long time ago but unfortunately we did have to wait seven weeks for our professional photos to come back, and then I just kept forgetting about this post.

I started the day getting ready at my Mum's house with Mum and my maid of honour. My MOH very kindly did my hair and makeup, and she also took the most stunning detail shots for me. I wanted my photographer to do them but unfortunately my mum was being stubborn and didn't want my photographer in her home. Lucky really my MOH takes good photos!

We then got into a Bentley to get to the venue. I've never been in a Bentley before but wow she was a beauty! And the driver was a lovely man who did everything he could to make sure the arrival was smooth and on time.

Then it was ceremony time! How I kept it together I do not know. Probably because I knew my MOH would be fuming if I messed up her good work of my makeup. Josh cried though. I was not expecting him to cry at all and I won't lie, I did feel a little bit smug about it. He looked incredibly handsome in his suit and I'm so pleased he went with my original idea of a green suit! He was thinking about a tan suit and I was secretly thinking, please no.

After we said our I do's we went for a 10 minute drive together in the Bentley so we could breathe and catch up. Again, the driver was amazing and even got us out of the car to take some photos of us.

We then met up with our guests for group photos and food. My mum made a lovely speech that nearly had me in tears. The food was incredible, although I didn't eat nearly enough.

Josh and I then went off for couple photos. We certainly made a good use of the incredible venue and the beautiful weather! The long wait for the photographers photos absolutely killed us but luckily our family members took some incredible photos throughout the day so nothing was missed.

The only real things I would change was how little our wedding co-ordinator was there for us. She had promised to be on hand, to trust her as she'd done over 600 weddings but she really let us down. She knew what the plan was for the day but didn't make sure it was stuck to. She forgot to have the music playing during the meal. She also promised she wouldn't kick everyone out at 6:30 but ended up doing exactly that. It was a bit of shock to come back from photos to find that half our guests had left. Not impressed at all. But other than that, it really was a beautiful day and will cherish the memories and the photographs forever.

Until next time,
Saph x
