August Vision Board

It's that time again! New month; new vision board! I actually love making these vision boards, it feels like a cute little hobby. Just in case you missed it, check out my July vision board.

Being More "Me" | Part 13

I have properly, officially decided that this is the year I become more "Me"! I'm turning 30 in 4 months and I want to become closer to my "final form" as it were. After finding lots of "alt" inspo on tiktok, I had an almost complete overhaul of my wardrobe. I took out everything that doesn't fit, I don't like anymore and just won't work with my chosen aesthetic. 

The colours in my wardrobe are now black, grey and white with a little bit of dark green and red. I also now have two corsets, some flowy sleeved tops and more witchy style dresses. I'm slowly falling in love with my wardrobe! Of course I still have the classic baggy t-shirts, jeans and leggings for work but I do wish I could be a bit more "dressy." Occasionally I'll dress up as much as I can get away with and I always get compliments when I do. 

As for my hair; I made a very last minute decision to do something very cool with it before the wedding! Josh said about 3 weeks before the wedding that I could have had a black dress. Thank you, but it's far too late to do anything about that now! I had been debating dyeing my hair black, so he suggested getting black and white hair. So that's what I did! Well, nearly. My moneypiece didn't make it to white with the limited timeframe we had but it did look very good and I'm super happy with it! 

When my roots started growing through, I was debating changing the moneypiece to a dark green but I decided would like to see it properly white or silver first. I have also decided to grow it out. No more bobs! Although the bobs do make my curls pop, I do prefer having a good amount of length to it. I got it redone last week and I'm absolutely obsessed with the result!

I'm really happy with how I'm looking these days, although there's always room for improvement! I have also decided to start getting my eyebrows waxed every six weeks, as it only costs £10 a time and I always feel much more "put together" after having them done. I'm feeling a piercing of some sort next...

A Letter to Myself on my 29th Birthday

Well, it's official! As of 6:01am I am now 29. Happy birthday to me! I still get mistaken for being 18/19 sometimes so that's good, right?

September Goals | Chapter 9 of 12

August has been really lovely! Not nearly as fun as I'd wanted but it's still been a really good month. My Mum made a comment last week. "Are you happier or are you just better at pretending that you are?" Wow. That's when it hit me that I haven't had a proper depressive episode for quite a few weeks! Obviously July had been a difficult month, but these last few weeks I've felt much better. I still have general life stresses but I have genuinely been so much happier lately. I feel good. 

Weekly Catch-up & Weekly Goals | Week 1

The first week of July is officially done! It's been a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. I've been really emotional, what with stress of wanting a new job but not finding anything, Charlie's birthday coming up and also my dearly departed dad's birthday this month too. It's hit me in the feels a lot earlier this month than it usually does, and I'm definitely struggling.

As I said in my Shein haul, I'm probably going to get judged for shopping on Temu as well but the bargains are just too hard to resist!

I know I'm going to get judged heavily for shopping from Shein but I just can't help it! High street shops just don't do it for me anymore. As the warmer weather is coming, I wanted some new spring/summer clothes but in my new alt. aesthetic. I'm officially done wearing clothes I don't like!

Pinky Creates Haul

Another day, another haul! Actually I don't think I've written a haul post for ages but I'm constantly buying. This time, I have added to my Pinky Creates Collection! I bought three pairs of earrings and I didn't even realise they're all the same colour theme but I absolutely love them.

Being More 'Me' | My Big Realisation

When I first started writing this post, it was going in a completely different direction. I felt like I was going through a type of crisis. I felt like a fraud writing these Being More 'Me' posts because I didn't know who I was, at all. Although, at the same time, that was kind of the point of these posts, to record the journey of figuring out who I am. Well, I'm pleased to say I do know who I am now.

Being More 'Me' | Part 12

Have you noticed that most of my Being More "Me" posts have been about my hair so far? I don't know why, but apparently my hair is a big part of my identity. Probably because I've struggled with it one way or another my whole life! From bad home haircuts as a kid to constantly being told to straighten my curls as a teen by friends.

My Pinky Creates Earring Collection

I love collecting things. I used to collect pin badges, but this year I'm all about funky earrings! I can't remember when exactly I discovered Pinky Creates but I believe it was someone doing a Pin for Pin retweeting sesh on twitter. I immediately loved the products but it was a few months before I made an order.

January Recap & February Goals

January has been a hell of a month. It started off pretty well, I was doing well with my habits and getting a good amount of exercise in. Then it all went south. I can't remember what came first; my depressive episode or my illness. I'm pretty sure it was depression. Then I got hit with the worst tonsillitis I've ever had and I just...stopped, for two weeks. I also quit my job, but I basically got pushed out of it. So yeah, January has been FUN.

Turning 27 | Mixed Feelings and Mixed Drinks

It's my birthday! I am now officially 27 years old and feeling absolutely devastated about it. I feel like my life is just flying by without any real meaning to it. I'm definitely feeling like I need to time travel backwards a few years and start again! Whew, I'm off to a depressing start, aren't I? Lets focus on the positives.

Top 5 Nail Inspirations

I'm missing having my nails done! I have booked my nails to be done for Friday 28th - the day before my birthday! The only problem is, I'm struggling to decide how I want them done. So I've decided to share my Top 5 choices. Hopefully I can decide what I want before Friday! 

Being More Me | Part 11

One thing I love doing is experimenting with my hair colour. I first dyed my hair when I was 15/16 and it was just before prom. Admittedly I only went a darker brown than what I had initially but from then on, I was hooked!

Only Curls Haul

I have always had wavy/curly hair. I haven't figured out what type of hair I've got though at a guess I'd say mine is somewhere between 2b-3b on any given day. It's only in the last couple of years that I've started trying to take care of my curls and use products to help them look nicer. I have yet to try the curly girl method though!

My Tattoo Wishlist

Since getting my ladybird tattoo back in June, I've been thinking about what other tattoos I would like! I have decided I definitely want sleeves, potentially one in full colour and one in black and grey but I'm not fully sold on that idea yet. I've been told I really suit colour tattoos so I may end up with mostly colour, with a few more black and grey dotted in. The idea was to have like nature-based, cutesy tattoos on my left arm to go with my hedgehog and ladybird, and then more spooky, darker black and grey on my right. For my "two personalities" - you know?

Shein Summer Haul

I've been feeling really low about my wardrobe lately, and didn't really have anything suitable for the crazy heatwave! After a chat with a colleague, I decided to raid Shein and see what I could find myself. I  have only had one item from Shein before and I absolutely love it so I was hoping to have some luck this time. Spoiler: I did! I have made three orders with Shein since! With my first order, I had £104 worth of items in my basket by the time I was done. Thankfully, Shein gives members vouchers so I got my basket down to £81 which was an absolute dream. Time to see what I ordered!

My New Tattoo | 30 By 30 & Being More 'Me'

It's been five long years but I finally did it! I finally treated myself to a new tattoo. I had 2 full weeks off work so I decided to take the plunge and book myself in with a local tattooist. I thought my next tattoo would be the sunflower that I've wanted for the last two years or so, but then the ladybird idea came to me and that was that!

An Overdue Haircut | Being More 'Me'

The plan on making myself feel more like 'me' is coming together! In my last Being More 'Me' post I was discussing my hair colour and had dyed my hair brown again. It didn't take long for the colour to fade back to orange again though! So I am officially giving up on brown and will stick with the Tangerine Twist - I do love it and it really suits me! It's  just a pain having to colour my roots so often...
