Vegan Skincare for Sensitive Skin*

You may or may not know that around three years ago I made the decision to go vegetarian. Unfortunately, during pregnancy, I went back to eating meat. This year I want to make more of an effort to step up my vegan and cruelty free game.

I do currently still eat meat and dairy, but I'm working on trying to consume less. At the moment, I want to concentrate on my skin care and makeup products. Last Summer I went through my makeup bag and removed everything that wasn't already cruelty free (apart from some eyeliner that I needed to replace first). For Christmas, I researched some cruelty free makeup brands and added them to my wishlist. I can now confirm that everything in my makeup bag is cruelty free! Unfortunately they aren't also vegan, but at least I'm making a step in the right direction.

I have, however, been testing out some cruelty free and vegan skincare products*! My usual skincare products are Younique, Cien and Simple and Superdrugs 'Naturally Radiant' collection. But I really wanted to try out some vegan skincare, so I jumped at the chance to try out the vegan and cruelty free brand; Arbonne.

I was very kindly sent a sample of the 'Care' range for sensitive skin. This consists of a daily cleanser, facial serum, moisturiser and soothing eye gel. My face wasn't used to so many different products in one day but there were no complaints! The sample sizes almost lasted me a full week - but that's only because I used them once a day rather than the recommended twice! One routine at a time Saph, one routine at a time...

I absolutely fell in love with the moisturiser straight away. I find a lot of moisturisers are quite heavy, and just don't feel nice on my skin but this one was heavenly! I was gutted when it ran out. I'm also very fond of the eye gel! When the samples arrived I was poorly, stressed and barely sleeping. Normally this means that my poor eyes look terrible and feel sore but the gel sorted that right out! Despite feeling awful, I didn't look it, and I believe I have Arbonne to thank for that!

While I was trawling the Arbonne website to purchase another moisturiser, I noticed that the full Calm set only had the gluten free symbol, and not the vegan. But I double checked with the rep and she assured me that the full range (and every Arbonne product) is vegan, cruelty free and gluten free.

I absolutely adore Arbonne skincare, and I'm sure it won't be long before I get the full set again! My skin just hasn't looked as good since I went back to my old products.
